If any of you have any suggestions or idea’s, or just want to advertise an event or make an announcement on this site, please contact me? movetheminer@sky.com With the closing of our mines, many miners took on new career challenges. Combining their many years of experience, with some even going back to college, they branched out into the world of self-employed business. One way I want to help, is to produce a list of these, plumbers, electricians, builders etc., on this site, which will give you all, the option and choice, to employ and support, these ex-miners. When I needed an electrician, I called on an ex- miner friend because I knew he would provide a service that I had confidence in and with a peace of mind that I was supporting a member of our community, who not very long ago, was someone that I had to rely on, with the same confidence, whilst working alongside me at Bettheshanger. If you are one of these ex-miners and want to advertise your business, please contact me? The story of the Kent Miner is not finished yet. “The Flame is still Burning,Never let it Die”
